hmm i guess its a bit perverse to show this picture
since like a guy shldnt b oogling at other guys hahaha. (dont worry yishan im neither gay nor bi =p)
but hes my idol man. i want his fighting skills and..
of course his hot bod wahhh!
damnit i just made a damn long entry on basic mixed martial arts fighting
and blogger screwed up. oh well. i will redo it quickly this time.
courtesy of wiki:
Mixed martial arts (commonly referred to as MMA) is a combat sport
in which two competitors attempt to achieve dominance over one another
by utilizing a wide variety of permitted martial arts techniques in full contact,
including striking and grappling.
Well-known MMA organizations include the Ultimate Fighting Championship
and PRIDE Fighting Championships.
The techniques utilized in MMA competition generally fall into two categories:
striking techniques (such as kicks, knees and punches) and
grappling techniques (such as clinch holds, pinning holds, submission holds,
sweeps, takedowns and throws).
Some unarmed hand to hand combat techniques are considered illegal,
such as biting, eye-gouging, fish-hooking and small joint manipulation.
Over the last ten years, strikes to the groin have become illegal in all sanctioned
MMA organizations.[citation needed]
The legality of other techniques such as elbows, headbutts and spinal locks vary
for those who think its violent, read below!
While MMA competition is occasionally depicted as brutal by the media,
there has never been a death or crippling injury in a sanctioned MMA event
in North America.
yes that is due to strict refereeing and rules made by fight regulators.
read somewhere that ufc has less injuries than NFL. dig that. its safe!
the left jab
the high roundhouse. notice fighters kick with their shins, which cause more damage.
of course, to do damage with the shin means u gotta take damage with them.
fighters train using a series of ways.
1. in thailand, thai fighters kick bamboo poles thousands of times a day.
2. some fighters kick sandbags filled with rocks.
3. others use a kali stick or sticks made of furniture grade wood and hit their shins.
(thats me!)
the elbow. rather deadly.
if u can do a spinning back elbow, u get extra 30k baht for that knockout in thai fights.
hows that man!
the knee! knocks the wind out of alot of fighters if u hit them in the ribs or the solar plexus.
national geographic fight science recorded a hit frm so
yeap. thats basically striking.
lastly, one of my favourite moves.
the backthrust. deals alot of damage. plus its unexpected.
however, drawback is that ur back is exposed to ur opponent.
now to submission grappling.
first a disclaimer, im nt exactly very trained in grappling so i will first apologise
if there are any mistakes.
the leg bar. usually not done forcefully during training,
for fear of hyperextension of knee.
the arm bar. the leg bar and arm bar are the basic moves.
however, you do not see them in pro-fights (seldom la!) because these
fighters drill so hard to evade these submissions which are sort of 'easy' victories.
the rear naked choke. (RNC - not REALLY NAKED COOK hurhur)
very deadly.
hard to predict when one loses unconsciousness.
and chokes can be classified into two types, blood choke and air choke.
the blood choke goes for the carotid while the air choke blocks the windpipe. yeah.
another of those crazy moves that can cause serious paralysis or even be fatal
the neck crank.
look at the guy in singlet.
his right arm is actually applying pressure on white-shirt-guy's neck and
a sudden movement can severe his cranial joint.
yeap thats all from me today! hope these are beneficial =p
